Four-day National Rural Livelihood Mission workshop begins at Patanjali University in Haridwar

A four-day regional workshop aimed at digitizing records of self-help groups under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) began on Monday at Patanjali University, Haridwar.

The workshop, organized by the Uttarakhand State Rural Livelihood Mission (USRLM), saw the inauguration ceremony graced by co-founder of Patanjali Yogpeeth, Acharya Shri Balakrishna, along with the Chief Executive Officer of USRLM, Mr Manuj Goyal, and Finance Controller Bhoopendra Prasad Kandpal among others.

The workshop, hosting representatives from ten states including Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir, and Uttarakhand, is being organized by the Uttarakhand State Rural Livelihood Mission (USRLM).

During the inauguration, Acharya Balakrishna praised NRLM for its various initiatives aimed at women’s empowerment and appreciated the selection of Patanjali as the National Resource Organization (NRO) for its efforts.

He mentioned that Patanjali is also actively involved in training yoga instructors, contributing to the empowerment of over 1 million women across different states.

The digitization efforts were further emphasized by Mr. Manuj Goyal, who stated that USRLM is swiftly implementing activities such as Lakhpati Didi and LokOS in line with the vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He highlighted that digitizing group activities through LokOS marks the beginning of fulfilling the Prime Minister’s vision.
