Hunter Schafer, known for her role in the hit series “Euphoria,” found herself in the midst of controversy as she was arrested during a pro-Palestine protest coinciding with Joe Biden’s appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers.”

Reports indicate that Hunter Schafer was among 33 individuals detained while advocating for Palestinian rights alongside the Jewish Voice for Peace group. Clad in a shirt demanding an immediate ceasefire, images captured her being escorted out of 30 Rockefeller Plaza by NYPD officers.

Confirming the incident, a spokesperson from the NYPD’s Office of the Deputy Commissioner stated that the protest occurred on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, resulting in the arrest of 30 individuals for trespassing. The demonstration, which lasted from approximately 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, disrupted Biden’s appearance on Seth Meyers’ show.

This arrest comes amidst heightened tensions surrounding the Israel-Hamas conflict, with voices advocating for Palestinian rights becoming increasingly vocal. Just a day prior, at the Michigan Democratic Primary, thousands rallied for an “uncommitted vote” to convey their concerns regarding the situation in Gaza. With 28% of the vote counted, the uncommitted share stood at 14.2%, signaling a significant sentiment among voters.

During his appearance on Seth Meyers, Biden addressed a range of topics, including his age, conspiracy theories, and notably, the Israel-Hamas conflict. The disruption caused by the protest underscored the intensity of public sentiment surrounding this issue.

Hunter Schafer’s portrayal of transgender teen Jules Vaughn in “Euphoria” has earned her widespread acclaim and numerous awards. Beyond her role in the series, she has also appeared in productions like “The Hunger Games” prequel and the horror film “Cuckoo,” alongside stars like Dan Stevens and Jessica Henwick.
