CBI summons to Akhilesh reflects panic in BJP: Congress

The Uttar Pradesh Congress called the CBI notice to Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav a clear indication of the fact that the BJP-led Central government is scared of the Opposition INDIA bloc.

Senior Congress leader and national spokesperson Akhilesh Pratap Singh said here on Wednesday, “It (the CBI notice) is also an indication that the Modi Government has gone into panic and despair over their future after Lok Sabha polls.”

In a statement, Singh said that the NDA is so scared of the Opposition alliance because “no one is now afraid of the efforts that the Central government is making to harass and intimidate the alliance leaders through its investigative agencies. The fact of the matter is that now this government itself is scared.”

“They (the BJP) have realised that the public is going to give it a huge defeat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections,” the Congress leader said.

He said, “Modi ji has no achievements to show in the last ten years except false excuses and harassment of the Opposition through false allegations because of which it is now become impossible for him to return to power.”

He asserted that no worker of the Congress or the Samajwadi Party is afraid of the pressure or harassment from the BJP. “Repeated efforts to scare the Opposition will only render the Modi Government scared and the death of the scared government is certain,” he contended while adding that no one will stop fighting for the people’s issues with double the strength and the Opposition will try to oust the Modi Government from power.

Congress is contesting 17 Lok Sabha seats in UP in alliance with SP. Akhilesh Pratap Singh, former MLA from Rudrapur, is expected to contest Lok Sabha polls from the Deoria seat.
