Senior Congress leader and former state home minister Ramesh Chennithala said on Tuesday that the larger conspiracy behind the murder of RMP leader TP Chandrsekharan has not been revealed due to a lack of cooperation from a few telecom service providers.

Speaking to media persons in Kozhikode, Chennithala said the telecom service providers had reportedly declined to cooperate in the investigation citing technical difficulties in retaining call details for more than three years.

Stating that CPI-M Kozhikode district secretary P Mohanan played a key part in the political conspiracy, Chennithala said the Congress would stand by KK Rema, MLA, who announced her decision to move the Supreme Court to expose the conspirators behind the murder of her husband.

There is no doubt about the CPI-M’s role in the murder. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was the then state secretary of the CPI-M, said Chennithala. Political murders witnessed a fall in the state only because of the elevation of people with criminal background got power

Meanwhile, Kerala Congress chief K Sudhakaran hinted at the possibility of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan having the final say in the 2012 murder of TP Chandrasekharan, founder of the Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP).

A day after the high court upheld the conviction of 12 accused, including local CPI-M leaders, in the murder case, Sudhakaran said at a press conference in Kochi that it is possible that Vijayan had a final say in the murder.

“The killing was done with the knowledge of the state leadership. It is possible that Pinarayi Vijayan gave the last word in the murder,” he alleged.
