HS examinee falls sick, writes paper from hosp
After her recovery, she continued writing her English paper from the hospital bed, under strict vigilance.
Eight lakh students will appear for Higher Secondary examination, scheduled to start tomorrow.
The examination will continue till 29 February. The examination will be held in 2,341 centres. The examination will start at 9.45am and continue till 1pm. The examinees will have to reach the examination hall by 9am.
The examination will start with the first language tomorrow. This will be followed by vocational subjects and the examination for second language will be held on 19 February.

Chiranjib Bhattacharya, president West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education said the candidates will not be allowed to use smart watches and carry smart phones and advanced calculators at the examination hall. However, the students will be allowed to use conventional calculators to make calculations for trigonometry, logarithmic function and arithmetic.
The board has identified 176 venues as ‘sensitive’. The candidates at these centres will be checked with the help of metal detectors so that they cannot carry mobile phones or electronic gadgets at the examination hall.
To prevent leak of examination paper a unique code will be used. The examinees will have to mention the code in the answer script. The invigilators will cross cheque the unique code number while receiving the answer scripts.
West Bengal Transport Corporation will run more buses for the examinees across the state. Police officers on duty have been instructed to help the candidates, who will face any problem in reaching the examination hall.
