BJP turning a deaf ear to struggles of backward classes: Rahul in J’khand
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday accused the BJP of turning a deaf ear to the struggles of backward classes.
“India is no longer a weak nation…it has become strong. If anyone looks at India with an evil eye, we have the capability to give a befitting response,” he said responding to Mr Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury in the Lok Sabha.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday asserted that India has become a strong nation and nobody could cast an evil eye on this country.
”India is no longer a weak nation…it has become strong. If anyone looks at India with an evil eye, we have the capability to give a befitting response,” he said responding to Mr Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury in the Lok Sabha when the Congress member wondered why there was no mention of the nation’s security concerns in the President’s address to the Joint Sitting of Parliament.
Disagreeing with Mr Chowdhury’s comments about China and the situation at the LAC, Mr Singh told the Congress member that he should not discredit the nation on the floor of Parliament on the matter of security.

Mr Chowdhury claimed that China was seeking to surround India from all sides and also referred to the Ladakh military stand-off. He also stated that the Maldives has gone out of India’s hand.
