Delhi on Saturday witnessed a generally cloudy sky during the day, while the residents also got the comfort from sun for some time, while maximum temperature settled at 23.2 degrees Celsius.
According to the weather agency, North- northwesterly winds also swept across the city at speeds of 5.6 km/ hr.
People had a cold start to the day on Saturday morning as the minimum temperature during the early hours pegged at 6.7 degrees Celsius, two notches lesser than normal for the season.
Relative humidity here pegged between 95 to 51 per cent, the weather agency said.
There was no rainfall recorded during the past 24 hours, the weatherman added.
However, the Met department has forecast thunderstorm with rain for Sunday, with minimum and maximum temperatures to be around 10 and 19 degrees Celsius, the weather agency said further.
Talking of the city’s air quality, the average Air Quality Index (AQI) level remained in the ‘moderate’ zone on Saturday, with the index value measuring at 200 points, according to the Central Pollution Control Board(CPCB).
Delhi’s AQI had improved to moderate on Thursday following overnight rains.
According to the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology(IITM), ” The air quality is likely to be in Moderate category from 04.02.2024 to 06.02.2024.”
Speaking to The Statesman, a group of friends who had come to Connaught place on Saturday evening said it felt refreshing to breathe in imroved air quality and wished the same would last for more days with forecast of rain on Sunday.
