India logs 187 Covid cases, 3 deaths

The overall caseload of the country rose to 4,50,25,792 with the addition of the new cases. It also included the new JN.1 Covid variant cases.

A total of 187 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the country during the past 24 hours, as per the data issued by the Union Health Ministry on Friday.

The overall caseload of the country rose to 4,50,25,792 with the addition of the new cases. It also included the new JN.1 Covid variant cases.

Of the new cases, 74 cases were reported from Karnataka, 49 from Maharashtra and 11 from West Bengal.

Six new cases were reported from the national capital.

According to the data, three more people succumbed to the disease, taking the death toll to 5,33,451. Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh reported one death each.

On the other hand, 141 people recuperated from the disease, taking the recovery tally to 4,44,90,960.

The active cases in the country stands at 1,381.
