The crisis in Opposition’s INDIA alliance after Nitish Kumar’s unexpected exit appears to have grown manifolds with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee clearly stating that she will not give a single seat to the Congress party in West Bengal.
During a government event in Bengal, the TMC Supremo said that she offered two seats to the Congress party in Malda but they didn’t agree with my offer and wanted more.
“I told them I will not share a single seat with them,” Banerjee said while slamming the grand old party’s alliance with the CPI(M).

Banerjee said the Congress is influenced by the CPI(M) and that she will never forgive those who support the left party.
“I have seen that in the last panchayat elections. The CPI(M)-Congress alliance helps the BJP,” she said in Bengali.
Earlier this month, Banerjee had made it clear that her party will not have any electoral alliance with the Congress for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and will field candidates in all the seats in West Bengal.
Banerjee further said that the Congress can contest 300 seats but she will not tolerate any interference by the grand old party in West Bengal.
“Let the Congress fight 300 seats on its own. The regional parties are together and can contest the rest. However, we will not tolerate any interference by them (Congress),” she added.
When asked about Banerjee’s announcement, the Congress tried to calm the situation and said that INDIA alliance can’t be imagined without Mamata Banerjee.
“We cannot imagine the alliance without Mamata ji. Tomorrow, our (Bharat Jodo Nyay) Yatra is entering West Bengal. Discussions regarding seat sharing are going on, and the result will come soon which will make everyone satisfied,” Congress leader Jairam Ramesh had said.
