In a surprising turn of events, the Bengal BJP unit has called off its planned MLA team’s visit to Ayodhya scheduled for 10 February. This decision comes in the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directive, instructing party leaders and workers to refrain from visiting the sacred city.
The BJP MLAs team, led by Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari was scheduled to visit Ayodhya on 10 February, according to sources of the BJP Legislative party. The cancellation follows the grand inauguration of the Ram Mandir on 22 January, where BJP leaders had initially announced their intention to visit Ayodhya starting February. The pilgrimage was expected to include leaders and party workers from various states, symbolizing their solidarity with the recently inaugurated temple.
However, sources within the BJP revealed that the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has advised against the Ayodhya visit for party members. This directive has created a shift in the party’s plans, leaving many disappointed state BJP leaders, who were eager to witness the Ram Mandir and seek blessings at the Ram Lalla temple. Despite the initial enthusiasm among state BJP lawmakers, the party now confirms the cancellation of the Ayodhya trip.
This development has stirred mixed reactions within the party, with some expressing understanding while others are left disheartened. The situation in Ayodhya remains tense, with a significant daily influx of devotees, reaching up to a lakh footfall. The administration in Uttar Pradesh has been actively managing the situation, ensuring the safety and well-being of the pilgrims
