According to information, Jwala gave birth to the three cubs on 20 January. This is the second time that the feline has given birth to cubs.
Jwala’s first litter of four cubs was on 24 March 2023, which was the first-ever birth of Cheetah cubs in KNP after eight Cheetahs from Namibia followed by 12 from South Africa were brought to the park beginning 17 September 2022. However, three of the four cubs born to Jwala in the first litter died.
According to KNP officials, Jwala and her three new cubs are healthy and have been kept in a separate boma (large enclosure).
With the three cubs, the total number of Cheetahs in the KNP is now 20, including 13 adults and seven cubs.
