BRS working president K T Rama Rao on Wednesday said his party has been the voice of Telangana in Parliament and if it needs to be heard , the people must vote for BRS MPs.
He also claimed that the Congress and the BJP were working together in two constituencies Nizamabad and Karimnagar, both held by the BJP.
The BRS today formally began the preparations for Lok Sabha elections. Following the defeat of BRS in the Assembly elections poll analysts have observed that the Lok Sabha polls may turn out to be a battle between the Congress and the BJP with the BRS reduced to a distant third.
Rao said that Telangana’s voice in Delhi was always represented by the BRS. For national parties like BJP and Congress Telangana was only one state among rest of the states. Although BRS wants to expand to other states its nucleus is still in Telangana, said the BRS leader.
“Did Rahul Gandhiji ever speak about Teangana’s issues in Parliament? Did Modiji ever address Telangana’s promises in Parliament? We appeal to the people, if KCR garu’s team is not there in the Parliament there won’t be any voice to speak on Telangana’s rights,” said KT Rama Rao.
He also slammed the Congress for failing to fulfil its poll promises. The BRS has compiled a document on the poll promises made by the party which they named as ‘420 promises of Congress’. The BRS has accused the Congress of delaying the implementation of the poll promises before the poll bugle was sounded by the Election Commission. Rao said the White papers on finances and electricity and the accusation of wasteful expenditure over buying 22 land cruisers were all distractions aimed at diverting the attention of the people since the ruling party was unable to fulfil the promises it had made to the people.
