As question paper leak of in recruitment examinations held by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) rocked the state government in the state the BJP sharpened its attack on the ruling BRS on Tuesday alleging that the financially bankrupt government could not have otherwise afforded to fill up the vacancies.

Smelling a rat in the paper leak, the saffron party demanded an inquiry by a sitting judge into the case.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested nine people in the question paper paper leak case including two employees of the TSPSC and a constable, but the BJYM of the BJP and NSUI of the Congress stormed the TSPSC office at Nampally protesting against the question paper leak.

State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar said: “KCR can’t fill the jobs as he is rendering the state financially bankrupt. With elections barely a few months away, only 20,000 jobs have been notified so far. If we look at the leakage of all exam papers related to those jobs, there is definitely suspicion on KCR’s family role in this.”

He also demanded intervention by the Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan and an inquiry by a sitting judge. “Yet again the BRS Government is messing around with the lives of unemployed youth. Chairman and all members should be terminated,” said Bandi Sanjay who alleged that all question papers of the TSPSC were leaked to KCR’s team.

The day witnessed storming of the TSPSC headquarters at Nampally by the youth wing of various Opposition parties to protest against the leak. Members of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) of BJP scaled the boundary wall to enter into the premises evading the barricades set up by the police. They damaged the board on the gate of the office and clashed with the police who had a hard time controlling the rampage.

The TSNSUI, belonging to the Congress, also attempted to besiege the TSPSC office in protest against the leakage of question papers for recruitment of Assistant Engineer and the alleged leak of Group 1 Prelims question paper by two TSPSC employees.

The examination was conducted on 5 March and a total of 55,000 candidates had written it. With elections scheduled to be held in December this year, the question paper leak could not have come at the worst of times for the BRS Government which had been banking on the chief minister’s promise to fill up one lakh government vacancies.
