Foreigners are delighted by positive vibes of Braj Holi
The vibrant festival of Holi, celebrated with exuberance and zeal across India, finds one of its most unique and spirited manifestations in the towns of Mathura and Barsana.
A day after a video of some miscreants applying Holi colours on a Japanese woman in Delhi went viral, Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal, on Saturday, said her team is issuing notice to the Delhi Police in this regard.
Condemning the incident, Swati Maliwal said the men involved should be identified and put behind bars.
Speaking to the news agency ANI, Maliwal said, “The woman was seen feeling harassed, molested, and screaming for help but the men did not stop. We are issuing notice to Delhi Police. Those men should be identified and put in jail,” she said.

The viral video that emerged on social media on Friday showed a Japanese woman being groped and harassed by a group of youth, presumable in Delhi’s Paharganj area.
Despite her screams, the men smeared colours on the woman amid chants of ‘Holi Hai’. A boy was also seen smashing an egg on her head.
Later, the 22-year-old Japanese woman tweeted that she has reached Bangladesh and is fit mentally and physically.
According to the report of news agency, the Delhi Police have initiated a probe into the incident and the video is being analysed to ascertain the requisite details.
Meanwhile, no complaint of misbehaviour with any foreigner has been reported at the Police Station of Pahargarh. However, an e-mail has been sent to the Japanese embassy requesting help in establishing the identity of the girl.
“Three boys, including a juvenile, have been apprehended who admitted and confessed the happenings in the video. They all are residents of the nearby area of Pahar Ganj and went that way in the enjoyment of Holi,” an official told ANI.
Further probe into the matter is underway.
