Digital economy will help the world become a prosperous ‘one family’ in the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ reflects India’s approach to ensure prosperity for all, said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday.

Addressing the first G20 Digital Economy Working Group Meeting here, Yogi said, “This meeting will give a new direction which will pave the way for the welfare of humanity and will give new ways that will enable the entire world to progress as a ‘whole’.”

The chief minister, along with the Union ministers also visited the exhibition organised on digital economy and cultural programmes.

Welcoming the delegates associated with G20, Yogi said with 11 per cent of India’s total cultivable, UP produces 20 per cent of the country’s foodgrains. It also has the best water resources. With a huge youth power it is an important base from the point of view of the modern economy, MSME base is needed, such 96 lakh MSME units are also present in Uttar Pradesh.

Under the guidance of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is working to provide facilities to a large population of the state by adopting state-of-the-art technology and through digitization of various aspects of governance, the CM said.

“With the use of technology, we are working with such a large population in a completely transparent manner. How people of the state are getting benefitted from technology can be seen in the distribution of foodgrains to them under the country’s biggest foodgrains scheme,” he said.

Stating that digital technology is the need of the hour, the CM said that through this, we can work to bring a comprehensive change in the life of every citizen with a transparent system. The speed with which India has not only brought changes in this field during the last nine years but has also worked to bring about comprehensive changes in the lives of 140 crore population can be an example for all the countries of the world.

Speaking about the organisation of the grand Global Investors Summit (GIS), Yogi said, “Today, the result of the implementation of an e-office system within the state is that there has been complete transparency in the functioning of Uttar Pradesh. The state is moving forward in the global world not only for agriculture and its water resources and for youth power but also as a new economy.”

Representatives of 40 countries participated in the Global Investors Summit held in Lucknow from February 10 to 12. In the entire event, Uttar Pradesh received investment proposals worth more than Rs 33.50 lakh crores. For this also we had to adopt technology and created a digital platform for monitoring any MoU, he added.

To provide a single window facility for the investors, the government has launched Nivesh Mitra portal as a result of which huge investment is being received by the state, said Yogi.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister of State for Electronics and Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar said in 2015, the prime minister launched the Digital India campaign with a focus on three main areas. “First and foremost, technology should improve people’s quality of life; second, it should provide opportunities; and third, it should be accessible to all and not monopolised by anyone.

“Today, everyone can see the outcome. Because of a lack of technology, previous governments remained ineffective. An Indian prime minister had once said if we give Rs 100 from Delhi, only Rs 15 reaches the beneficiary. We’ve been able to overcome that problem now because of technology. Today, all 100 beneficiaries receive it thanks to digital technology,” Chandrasekhar said.
