Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Tuesday said that soon a heliport will be set up in Sector-84 of Gurugram.
Presiding over a meeting of officers of Pawan Hans, Air India, state Aviation Department at Haryana Bhawan in New Delhi today, Chautala said with the establishment of this heliport in Gurugram, Delhi’s air-space will get a new option and it will also prove to be a good connectivity to the cities of the states adjoining Haryana.
He said that similarly, under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS), various cities of Haryana will be connected with the cities of northern states.
Chautala said the process to set up the heliport in Gurugram is in the final stages and a provision has been made to make a terminal for 100 passengers in the heliport to be set up in Gurugram.
This heliport, located along the Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram, will have various facilities, including hangars, parking to accommodate small and large helicopters and repair facilities, etc.
The deputy chief minister said with the construction of this heliport, there will be reduction in aviation traffic in Delhi and surrounding areas and Delhi’s air space will also get a new option. He informed that this heliport will have a runway of 300 meters, six landing spots and parking also.

Chautala said this heliport will also facilitate quick landing and takeoff of helicopters. He said that apart from the night facility, other options were also discussed in today’s meeting to make this heliport operational 24×7.
The Deputy CM said moving forward under the Regional Connectivity Scheme, Haryana is taking the lead in this direction, the Central government is planning to make aviation connectivity between the cities of the northern states of the country from Hisar, Ambala and Karnal. This scheme includes Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh including Haryana.
He said air space for these states will be linked and air connectivity will be established from the cities of one state to the cities of other states. The Central government is also taking initiatives to take this scheme forward.
It was informed in the meeting that primarily there is a plan to connect Hisar to Jaisalmer, Hisar to Jaipur, Hisar to Agra, Ambala to Varanasi, Ambala to Gorakhpur etc. cities under this scheme.
