UP’s development under ‘young’ CM Yogi merits research: Vice President Dhankhar
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Thursday praised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, calling him a ‘young Chief Minister’ and the ‘hero of Uttar Pradesh.’
Altogether 63 candidates are in the fray for the biennial polls to 3 graduate and 2 teachers constituencies of the Uttar Pradesh legislative Council, where polling will take place on 30 January.
According to the Election Commission of India, 75 candidates filed their nominations for the 5 seats and 7 papers were rejected during scrutiny and 5 others have withdrawn their nominations.

Highest number of 24 candidates are in the fray for the Gorakhpur-Faizabad graduate constituency, while Kanpur, Bareilly-Moradabad graduate and Allahabad-Jhansi teachers seats have 10 candidates each. Kanpur teachers seat have 9 candidates in the fray.

Voting will take place on 30 January, from 8 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon. The counting will be conducted on all the seats on February 2.
