Policemen and field staff of various departments in Haryana would be trained to check the wrong information registered in the Aadhar card or its authenticity.
Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal said the state government has chalked out a programme of workshops for this in collaboration with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
He said that online workshops will be organised in all the districts from 18 January to 23 January and after this, workshops will be organized in the districts in offline mode in February.
He said that in these workshops, proper information will also be given on the process of re-verifying the address of citizens having 10 years old Aadhaar and making new cards for persons of age 18 years or more.Kaushal said as per the UIDAI data, there are about 77.91 lakh citizens in Haryana who have not updated their documents in Aadhaar in the last 10 years. He urged the Aadhaar holders, who have not updated their Aadhaar in the last 10 years, to update Aadhaar online as per the directions of the UIDAI through ‘myAadhaar portal’ or ‘mAadhaar App’ or offline by visiting the nearest Aadhaar centres with valid supporting documents of identity and address proof.
The Chief Secretary said that in the last decade, Aadhaar card has emerged as a universally accepted proof of identity of residents in India. It is in the interest of the residents to keep their Aadhaar updated with current proof of identity and proof of address.
He urged the residents to update their mobile number and e-mail ID in Aadhaar details and also the mandatory biometric update for children between the age of 5 and 15 years.
