In a tragic incident, five out of six friends were killed when the SUV in which they were travelling collided head on with a brick laden dumper truck on Rawatsar-Sardarshar mega highway in the Hanumangarh district at around 11:30 last night.
Three of them died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries after reaching hospital in Pallu town, Station House Officer (SHO) Gopiram told SNS when contacted. The injured sixth one was referred this morning to a hospital in Bikaner, he said.
The deceased were identified as Raju, 24, Naresh, 28, Danaram, 32, Bablu, 28, and Murli, 28. Police said they were on their way to Pallu from Bisarasar in their SUV – Duster – collided with the dumper. The condition of Ashok Kumar, the sixth occupant of the vehicle, is said to be serious.
