The sensational murder of the owner of the Energie Fitness Gym chain, Mahendra Agarwal, has created unrest among the police force of East Delhi. Several teams have been deployed to nab the assailants. However, even after 24 hours of the incident the culprits are eluding the police.
On the other hand, the police are working day and night to work out the murder mystery.
According to a police source, a former employee of the deceased Mahendra Agarwal and a businessman in his neighbourhood are on the radar of the police.
During investigation, it came out that Mahendra Agarwal had a fight with both of them and had an old enmity with them. Complaints were also made at Preet Vihar Police Station regarding the fight between them on both occasions.
According to the source, the case related to the former employee is still under consideration. It is being alleged that the former employee had even threatened Mahendra Aggarwal on several occasions.
As per sources, the police team has procured CCTV footage of the incident, from the cameras installed outside Mahendra Agarwal’s office. All the three masked accused were captured in the footage. Police are analysing the CCTV footage, in an effort to identify the accused.
The police sources revealed that about four years ago, Mahendra Agarwal had fired a gym trainer working at his gym on allegations of theft of gym machines worth lakhs from his godown.
Apart from firing him from job, Mahendra Agarwal demanded the cost of stolen machines from his ex-employee and had made a complaint at Preet Vihar police station, after his ex-gym trainer refused to pay the money. The matter is still sub judice and it is being alleged that the accused had threatened him for life on many occasions.
During the investigation, a case related to the tussle between the deceased Mahendra Agarwal and the owner of a restaurant located in his neighbourhood. It is being said that there was a dispute between the two regarding the installation of the board of the restaurant.
The matter had also reached the local police station, but the controversy between the two was not over.
Considering both the incidents registered at the police station, the police are investigating the murder mystery. Police are preparing to interrogate the owner and the ex-employee.
On the other hand, the family of the deceased has alleged that the way the accused had meticulously chosen the time to execute the murder. It appears that they had all the information about Mahendra Agarwal’s whereabouts.
They had knowledge that most of the employees of the deceased would have left for their home. They even had information about the DVR of CCTV cameras kept in the office. This was the reason that the accused broke the DVR, before fleeing the spot.
