This comes as no shock that Sam Curran will be one of the highest bidding players in IPL 2023 mini auctions. But what is surprising is Sam Curran is now the most expensive player in the history of IPL. He was bought by Punjab Kings at a whopping price of 18.50 crore. No player in the history of the IPL has ever received such a huge amount as remuneration.
Punjab Kings later said that they are very happy to have Sam Curran in their team. He is one of the best all-rounders in the world and will fit in their team combination.
The young and explosive Australian all-rounder has been sold to Mumbai Indians at a huge price of Rs 17.5 crore. He is now the second most expensive player in the history of IPL. Mumbai Indian went all the way to Green in a fierce bidding war with Delhi Capitals. Eventually, the star all-rounder went to the most decorated franchise in the IPL.
Mumbai Indians owner Akash Ambani, later in a press conference, said that they are very happy to have Cameron Green in their team as he too is one of the best and most importantly a young all-rounder in the world.
The Mumbai Indians always look for young and potential players and then nourish them. They needed a replacement of Kieron Pollard who had been doing the job of an overseas destructive all-rounder in the lower middle order.
The star English all-rounder too has become a millionaire as Chennai Super Kings spent a huge amount on him. The fast-bowling all-rounder was sold to CSK at a massive 16.25 crore. Chennai Super Kings needed a replacement for Caribbean megastar all-rounder Dwane Bravo.
Stokes will not just provide them quality and explosive batting in the lower middle order but also prove to be a good fast bowling option for the Super Kings.
The West Indian wicketkeeper batsman, Nicholas Pooran, was also a big fish featuring in the IPL auction. Lucknow Super Giants went after Nicholas Pooran and after an intense bidding war with several other franchises, Pooran became a part of LSG at a colossal 16 crores.
Lucknow Super Giants were in need of a wicket keeper batsman and who else can prove to be a better fit than Nicholas Pooran. The Caribbean player will not just provide safe hands, but he also is a hard-hitting batting option.
As expected, Harry Brook was much in demand as his name appeared next to Kane. After a fierce bidding battle, Sunrisers Hyderabad went all the way to purchase him for a whopping 13.25 crore.
He is a destructive English batter who can add a lot of value to Hyderabad. Hyderabad entered in the IPL 2023 auctions with a good purse and players such as Harry Brook are certainly the ones they must have been eyeing for.
