Jai Ram accuses Himachal govt under Congress of vendetta politics

Former chief minister of Himachal Pradesh and senior BJP leader Jai Ram Thakur

Former chief minister of Himachal Pradesh and senior BJP leader Jai Ram Thakur, on Tuesday, accused the Congress government of resorting to vendetta politics to undo the good work done by previous dispensation under him.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Jai Ram Thakur said, “We strongly resent the denotification of several offices of the Electricity Board, including 10 electrical divisions, six operation circles and 17 sub-divisions. The decision to close down all the institutions one by one shows the complete dictatorial behaviour of the Congress government under the leadership of CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.”

Thakur said that board meetings, approvals and permissions from the government were taken to open all these divisions and sub-divisions.

The BJP opposes these decisions and will also go to court against it, he cautioned.

He said that the state government is working with a sense of revenge and is doing politics on all the public interest decisions taken by the previous BJP government.

BJP State President Suresh Kashyap said that Sukhu is doing politics with the spirit of revenge and is working to reverse all the previous decisions taken by the BJP government.

“The Sukhu government also closed the first office of the Shiva Project located in Dharampur and called all the employees of that office to Shimla. Along with this the Centre of Excellence was also closed,” he blamed.

This, he claimed, clearly shows that Sukhu is not concerned with public welfare and is only interested in undoing the good works of BJP.

During the tenure of the BJP government, focus was only on the development of the entire state. However today seeing this autocratic behaviour of the leaders of the Congress party, there is criticism all around in the public sphere, he claimed, adding that such type of vindictive government is not going to last long.
