In a rebuttal to the statement of former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, Himachal Pradesh Congress General Secretary and Shimla (Rural) MLA Vikramaditya Singh said that the 10 guarantees are not of any particular person.
“The guarantees have been promised to the people of the state by the Congress party and it will be provided in a phased manner,” he said while addressing media persons here on Tuesday.
Singh said that the government will soon restore the Old Pension Scheme for the employees and advised BJP including Jai Ram Thakur to exercise some restraint on their statements.
The Congress government will fulfill all its promises and the BJP need not worry about it, he added.
Singh further said that the Congress led state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will work in the state with mutual coordination and two-level coordination, in which there will be direct dialogue between the common people and the government.
Both the chief minister and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri have started work in this direction, he said, adding that soon after the formation of the cabinet, the government will strive to fulfill the promises made in the party manifesto.
He said during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, senior Congress leader and former National President Rahul Gandhi also expressed happiness over the formation of the Congress government in the state and asked all the MLAs to work in full coordination.
Singh expressed gratitude to the people of the state, especially the people of district Shimla, for giving absolute majority to Congress.
“Out of eight seats in the district, the Congress bagged seven,” he said, adding that the previous BJP government ignored the problems of horticulturists, farmers, employees and common man.
The state government will put an end to wasteful expenditure and resources of the state will be put to good use to improve the financial condition of the state, he claimed.
Singh said that he is hopeful that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who in his election rallies in the state has described the state as his second home, will not discriminate with the state in the matter of development.
Expressing gratitude to the voters for his second time win with a huge margin, Vikramaditya Singh said that his main objective is to take his constituency, Shimla (rural) forward on the path of development.
