In Palakkad, more voters supported the LDF compared to previous elections. “Although the United Democratic Front (UDF) managed to retain Palakkad with the support of communal forces, the LDF candidate received more votes than before,” he remarked.
Ruling BJP candidate Ramakant Bhargava registered a win over his Congress rival Rajkumar Patel in the Budhni Assembly by-poll in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday, but the victory margin fell drastically as compared to the 2023 Assembly elections.Bhargava won by about 13900 votes against Patel.
Congress nominee Manoj Rawat, who had previously won the seat in 2017, managed only 18,192 votes (33.42 per cent). Independent candidate Tribhuvan Singh also played a significant role, securing 9,266 votes (17.1 per cent) and reportedly diverting a substantial portion of Congress' voter base.
