Former Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Raghuram Rajan, on Wednesday, joined Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra at Bhadoti village in Sawai Madhopur and walked along with thousands of party leaders and workers for around 10 kms.
The duo had a long conversation mostly, on the country’s economy and the current economic situation. They talked of the steps to hike private investment in the country, exports scenario, containing the fall of rupee value during the foot march, said a senior Congress leader.
On the 98th day of the foot march, AICC spokesman, Jairam Ramesh, said, ” usually Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, says that he does not discriminate against non-BJP governments. But the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project is an example that he did not do what he promised in last LS polls 2019.  The Prime Minister himself had twice promised to declare it a national project”
In the afternoon, Gandhi interacted with workers and representatives of several unions on labour and employment issues. They include Rajasthan Unorganized Labor Union, Aravali Nirman Sangh, Stone Quarry Mazdoor Suraksha Sangh, Ujala Mahila Sangathan, Adivasi Adhikar Manch, Information Employment Rights Campaign, National Hawkers Federation, Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan, Indian Federation for App Based Transport Workers, All Rajasthan Women and Child Development Joint Employees Union, All Rajasthan Women and Child Development Anganwadi Employees Union and some other workers were also involved.
During the conversation, these organizations appreciated the public interest policies of the Rajasthan government and gave their presentation to Gandhi. The yatra entered into Dausa district in the evening.
