Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his Ministers have turned down the invitation of Governor Arif Mohammed Khan to join the Christmas celebration on December 14 at the Raj Bhavan here.
Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan too will not be attending the celebration. His office informed that Satheesan is going to New Delhi on Tuesday. Christmas celebrations and feast will be arranged on Wednesday at the Raj Bhavan.
The Chief Minister, Ministers, Speaker, Opposition Leader, Chief Secretary and departmental secretaries along with the religious leaders have been invited for the function.

The Raj Bhavan sent the invitation letters on Saturday, inviting them to take part in the Christmas celebrations to be held at 5pm on December 14. Last year, the Governor’s Christmas celebration had seen the participation of religious leaders only.
The Governor’s invitation to the Chief Minister and Ministers is being seen as a ‘sweet revenge’ for not inviting him for the government functions held as a part of the Onam celebration this year.
