A drug addict was beaten to death in the North West District of Delhi, by security guards of Metro, on the suspicion of theft. The incident is said to have occurred in the evening of December 07 in the area of Adarsh Nagar police station.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at the Adarsh Nagar Police Station and an investigation has been taken up.
The deceased has been identified as Suraj, 26, a resident of Lal Bagh, Azadpur, whose body has been preserved in a mortuary of Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North West Delhi), Usha Rangnani said that information was received from the hospital regarding a patient named Suraj brought to the hospital and declared dead by the doctors on Wednesday at about 6 pm.
On receiving the information, a police team reached the hospital and took custody of the dead body for conducting a post-mortem.
During local inquiry, it was revealed that the deceased, on the night of December 5, had gone to the site of a metro project near Bada Bagh, GTK Road. There, he was caught and was beaten up by the security guards of the metro on the suspicion of theft.
In the morning, he was found lying near GTK road in a conscious state and was brought to his home by his friend. He was later rushed to the hospital, after his condition deteriorated, where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.
A case has been registered in the matter and one of the guards namely Dayanand (29), a resident of Sonia Vihar area has been apprehended. Further investigation is in progress.
