Income Tax raid at firms and offices of controversial businessman Faris Aboobacker
In the wake of the transactions with Faris, Income Tax officials inspected the offices and establishments of Shobha Developers in Trissur.
Income tax officials, on Tuesday, raided the residence of Telangana minister Malla Reddy and those of his relatives at multiple locations since 5:30 am. Around 40 IT officials also carried out raids in several of the colleges and other institutions owned by him.
The move came at a time when the Special Investigation Team of Telangana issued lookout notices for BJP ally Tushar Vellapally and Dr Jaggu Swamy after they did not respond to the summons over the MLA poaching case.
Contrary to TRS social media team and a section of the media’s claims, no lookout notice was issued against BJP leader BL Santosh who has informed the SIT that he would be available on any other mutually agreeable date. State BJP leaders slammed the TRS social media teams for spreading fake news about BJP leaders and demanded an apology. They also threatened legal action against the TRS leaders for “manufacturing” news.

Meanwhile, Malla Reddy is the second minister in the Telangana Cabinet to be raided by Central agencies after Gangula Kamalakar whose residence was raided by IT department while he was away on vacation to Dubai.
Malla Reddy is the minister in-charge of Labour Department and also the chairman of Malla Reddy Group which runs several educational institutions. The IT Department searched the minister’s residence in Bowenpalli and Kompalli. There were raids also in the residences of his son, son-in-law and brother. His son-in-law Marri Rajasekhar Reddy had contested from Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat in the last election but lost.
