Ahead of the upcoming Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) polls on December 4, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday held a road show in Ghonda area in the national capital and said that the people’s excitement makes it clear what the result of the election will be.
The Assam Chief Minister also took a swipe at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and said that he is best in theatrics. “People’s excitement makes it clear what the result of the election will be. Kejriwal is best in theatrics. He thinks that Hindus are enemies, but can India exist without Hindus? He should apologize for the riots in Delhi during the CAA (implementation). BJP will win this election,” Sarma said during the road show.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Ministers Dr Jitendra Singh and Meenakashi Lekhi also participated in ‘Vijay Sankalp’ road show at Uttam Nagar in West Delhi.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and BJP MP from East Delhi Gautam Gambhir also held a road show in Mandawali, ahead of December 4 MCD polls in Delhi.
With elections for the MCD around the corner, the BJP is scheduled to hold 14 road shows across the national capital.
The elections for 250-ward MCD will be held on December 4 while the counting of votes will be done on December 7.
There are 250 valid candidates each from the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). As per the information, three nominations of Congress were cancelled in MCD elections. The party is now contesting on 247 seats.
This year, the Central government unified the three corporations – East Delhi Municipal Corporation, South Delhi Municipal Corporation and North Delhi Municipal Corporation – into one MCD.
After the Home Ministry notification, the total number of MCD wards in Delhi has been reduced to 250 from earlier 272. As many as 42 wards are in the reserved category.
In the last civic body polls in 2017, the BJP won 181 of 270 wards. The AAP had won 48 wards while the Congress managed to win 27. Polling was not held for two seats due to the death of candidates.
