Coal imports during Apr-Oct decrease by 3.1%
Coal imports in India, during the April-October period of FY 2024-25, witnessed a notable decrease of 3.1%, reaching 149.39 million tonnes (MT), the Ministry of Coal said on Thursday.
With the addition of one more death due to the COVID-19, the total number of fatalities due to the coronavirus now stands at 5,30,532 in the country.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 4,46,66,924 including 9,468 active cases. Active cases account for 0.02 per cent of the total cases.

As per the Ministry’s data, the recovery rate currently is at 98.79 per cent while the total recoveries now stands at 4,41,26,924.
On the COVID-19 vaccination front, more than 219.80 crore of COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
