When Piketty came to India
Thomas Piketty, the French economist and author of the famous book Capital in the Twenty First Century, was recently in India. He delivered a lecture on the state of inequality globally as well as in India.
Virat Kohli and his men would want to continue their unbeaten run at this venue.
Auckland’s Eden Park in New Zealand has been a very lucky venue for the Indian Team. This is because it is the only venue in New Zealand where India has not lost a T20I fixture. Even the first match of the five-match T20I series was played at this venue and it was India who ended up on the winning side. The second match which is set to be played on Sunday, 26 January, which happens to be India’s Republic Day, is also scheduled at the same venue. Thus, Virat Kohli and his men would want to continue their unbeaten run at this venue.
However, it won’t be that easy since the Kane Willamson led New Zealand side are quite capable of staging a comeback in the series in their home conditions.

India have played a T20 game in four different venues in New Zealand. This includes Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland and Hamilton. The Men in Blue have played a total of six T20 matches in these four venues. In two of them, India have ended up on the winning side while they have lost four. While India have lost a match each at Christchurch and Hamilton, they have lost twice in Wellington.
Unbeaten at Auckland
Auckland, thus, is the only venue in New Zealand where India have an unbeaten record. India have won both their matches here. The first win came here in 2019 when Rohit Sharma was the Indian skipper while the second came on Friday. In both these matches, India were chasing down a total.
It remains to be seen how India performs at this venue on Sunday and whether or not they are able to maintain their unbeaten record here.
