Kit Harington: Before getting sober, I couldn’t be proud
“Game Of Thrones” star Kit Harington says he is "lucky" to have kicked his addiction issues before becoming a father because he "hated himself" when he was drinking.
The announcement comes after it was widely reported that the network pulled the plug on a Game of Throne sequel starring Naomi Watts.
Game of Thrones‘ fans’ do not despair. The HBO network is bringing a prequel to the much-loved show. Titled House of the Dragon, the show is set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of the House of Targaryen.
House of the Dragon will be a 10-episode show based on George RR Martin’s book, Fire and Blood.
The network shared a tweet about the announcement.

“#HouseOfTheDragon, a #GameofThrones prequel is coming to @HBO.The series is co-created by @GRRMSpeaking and Ryan Condal. Miguel Sapochnik will partner with Condal as showrunner and will direct the pilot and additional episodes. Condal will be writing the series,” HBO shared along with a poster of the upcoming series.
HBO made the House of Dragon announcement at an event about HBO Max, a streaming service that will launch in May 2020 at $15 per month to compete with Netflix Inc and Walt Disney Co, reported Hindustan Times.
The announcement comes after it was widely reported that the network pulled the plug on a Game of Throne sequel starring Naomi Watts.
The prequel was to take place thousands of years before the original show and would have chronicles Westeros’ descent from the Age of Heroes into the Long Night.
Makers also shot the pilot episode in Northern Ireland earlier this year, but HBO decided not to take it forward. Though, it is still moving forward with a separate sequel focusing on the Targaryen Civil War that took place 300 years before the events of GoT.
David Benioff and DB Weiss, original GoT creators, have also announced that they will no longer be helming the Star Wars trilogy whose first installment had been planned for 2022.
