Billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) achieved a new benchmark on Friday after it’s market capitalisation crossed Rs 9 lakh crore for the first time.
Around 1150 hours RIL’s market capitalisation reached Rs 9,00,317.35 crore. At the same time, company’s shares were trading over 2 per cent to touch record 52-week high of Rs 1,428 per share.
On the National Stock Exchange (NSE) RIL shares were trading at Rs 1,420, higher by Rs 23.85 or 1.71 per cent from the previous close of Rs 1,396.15.
The surge in market capitalisation and share prices at a time when the company is due to release its second-quarter results later in the day.
