Congress carries British DNA: Yogi Adityanath in Maharashtra
He accused Congress of inheriting the "DNA of the British" and having a history of betraying India.
The Yogi Adityanath government terminated the services of 25,000 Home Guards in the Uttar Pradesh Police Department on Tuesday. In an order, the Uttar Pradesh Police stated that 25,000 Home Guards in the state will be relieved from their duties.
“The decision to end 25,000 Home Guard services was taken on August 28 this year in a meeting chaired by Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary,” said an order issued by Additional Director General (ADG), B.P. Jogdand.
The state government has also cut the required number of working days for Home Guards in a month to 15 days from earlier 25 days. With this, more than 99,000 Home Guards also stand to lose their regular employment.

As per the state government spokesperson, the decision was taken due to financial constraints. The apex court had asked the state government to make the daily allowances of the Home Guards in the state at par with the UP Police constables.
The state traffic management is likely to face issues as most of the UP Home Guards were deployed for the traffic management.
Earlier, UP Home Guards were paid a daily allowance of Rs 500, which was raised to Rs 672 on the Supreme Court’s order. The order said to have added UP Police’s budgetary constraints. Home Guards are not employed on a fixed monthly salary and are paid on the basis of number of days of duty.
