Ace Indian badminton player Parupalli Kashyap stormed into the semi-finals of the Korea Open tournament after registering a comfortable win over Jan O Jorgensen of Denmark on Friday.
Prior to the match on Friday, Kashyap had a 2-4 record against Jorgensen. However, that did not stop him from coming up with a powerful performance to register a 24-22, 21-8 win. The match lasted 47 minutes.
Despite a challenging performance by Kashyap’s opponent in the first game, the ace Indian shuttler kept his cool and went on to win the game 24-22 in 21 minutes.
The second game was an absolute genius of a game from the Indian star. He produced a flawless brand of badminton in the second game and gave no chance whatsoever to his opponent to make a comeback.
He cruised past his opponent in the second game and secured his place in the semifinals. He will be up against World No 1 Kento Momota in the semis.
Notably, Kashyap is the only Indian left in the scheme of things as far as Korea Open is concerned. Star shuttlers PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal and B Sai Praneeth have all made early-round exits from the competition.
