The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday issued a notice to Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry against a petition seeking his disqualification.
The hearing on the application was conducted by IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah.
During the hearing today, the petitioner’s lawyer said Chaudhry is no longer Sadiq (honest) and Ameen (truthful) since he failed to declare his lands in Jhelum, which is why the court should disqualify the federal minister, Geo news reported.
The petitioner’s lawyer further said Chaudhry had concealed his assets while submitting his nomination papers with the election body.
“He did not declare land he owns in Jhelum,” the lawyer added.
The IHC also issued notices to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the Law Ministry and asked the three to submit their response within two weeks, The Tribune reported.
