Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia urge first-time voters to cast their ballots
The Maharashtra Assembly elections are being held across 288 constituencies, with over 4,100 candidates contesting. Major parties include the BJP, Congress, Shiv Sena, and NCP.
The release date of Marjaavaan has also been shifted from 2 October to 22 November in order to avoid box office clash with the much awaited Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer War.
First look posters of Marjaavaan starring Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh, Rakul Preet Singh and Tara Sutaria have been unveiled.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on social media.
Sidharth and Riteish’s character posters have been revealed. In a poster that bears the background of a fiery Raavan effigy in shades of red, Sidharth is seen adorning a leather jacket. Carrying a gun in one hand, the look on the actor’s face is determined. The poster also carries a tagline that says “Ishq mein maaroonga bhi, maroonga bhi.”

On the other hand, Riteish will play a villainous character and his poster reveals the actor as a dwarf with long messy hair, a gun in hand with a tagline that reads, ” Kamineypan ki height-teen foot.”
A violent and dramatic love story, Marjaavaan is being helmed by filmmaker Milap Zaveri. Speaking about the film, he said, “Marjaavaan is a powerful mass action love story with the highlight being the battle between Sidharth and Riteish. Riteish is playing a dwarf villain and his VFX is hopefully going to be a highlight. Action, romance, dialogues, and masala. It’s a full commercial package,” quoted IANS.
Producer Bhushan Kumar spoke about Riteish’s character from the film. He told news agency IANS, “The film needs VFX especially with Riteish playing a dwarf. We want to offer the audiences the best. The team is on the edit table working day and night to achieve the deadline. After several discussions, we have decided to release on a later date and give a powerful film to our audiences.”
Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh are coming together for a second collaboration after their successful venture Ek Villain in 2014.
The release date of Marjaavaan has also been shifted from 2 October to 22 November in order to avoid box office clash with the much awaited Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer War.
