Bhumi Pednekar: Became an actor in a time where the way I looked was secondary
The 35-year-old actress said that she was taken by surprise when she did the film.

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha fame actor Bhumi Pednekar celebrated the Akshay Kumar starrer’s two-year old journey on Sunday.
Rejoicing over the film’s anniversary, the 29-year old shared a humble post on social media stating that the film put her “on the path to make the world a better place by spreading awareness on sanitation.”
“2 Years of #ToiletEkPremKathaTEPK made me more humble,socially aware and put me on the path to make the world a better place by spreading awareness on sanitation,” Bhumi wrote on her official Instagram handle.

Further mentioning that she along with her team has constantly tried to “provide better facilities to the children of Abhyudaya Ashram Morena Chambal,” her post added, “We constantly are trying to provide better facilities to the children of Abhyudaya Ashram Morena Chambal.And on the 2nd anniversary of TEPK am proud to say that ,the new hostels and toilets are fully functional today.There is nothing more gratifying than the love you can spread.These children give me strength.”
Bhumi signed off by thanking her fans and supporters for all the love she has received in her career.
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha released on 11 August 2017 and dealt with the issue of open defecation in a small village through a story of a newly-wed couple, played by Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar.
The film’s story was inspired from the real-life story of a woman who left her husband after finding out that there was no toilet in their house.
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the film was co-produced by Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey.
