Barcelona thrashed Napoli 4-0 at Michigan Stadium on Sunday, thanks to a brace from Luis Suarez.

Meanwhile, Antoine Griezmann, who moved from Atletico Madrid to Barcelona earlier this summer in a €120 million deal, opened his account for Barca. And Ousmane Dembele eventually completed the rout.

Notably, Barcelona had beaten Napoli 2-1 in Miami on Thursday in a close encounter in the first leg of the La Liga-Serie Cup, but the contest on Sunday was a largely one-sided affair.

With only Lionel Messi missing through injury in Ann Arbor, Barca manager Ernesto Valverde picked a strong side with the season-opener against Athletic Bilbao at San Mames just six days away.

Napoli seemed in good touch but the Spanish champions quickly took control of the game. Frenkie de Jong controlled things in the middle, while the pace of Nelson Semedo and Dembele on the right and the ingenuity of Griezmann on the left caused their Italian opposition problems.

Barca were decent with their performance in the first-half but after the break, they tore Napoli apart 4-0.

Things started with Suarez scoring in the 48th minute. Then Griezmann scored in the 56th minute. Before Napoli could even think of bouncing back, Suarez scored another brilliant goal in the 58th minute. And Dembele in the 63rd minute, put the final nail in Napoli’s coffin to take his side home 4-0.
