The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 final was played between England and New Zealand at Lord’s, London. Batting first, the Kane Williamson led side scored 241/8 in their 50 overs.
In response, England’s scorecard read the same at the end of the play, i.e. 241 runs, meaning a tie. Thus, the match went into the super over to decide the winner. However, the super over too ended in a tie with both the teams scoring 15 runs. Eventually, England were declared the winners since they had scored more boundaries compared to the Kiwis.

Equal runs yet on the losing side
Even after scoring the equal number of runs in the super over when the Kiwis failed to cross the line, many Kiwi players looked disappointed. In fact, Martin Guptill was spotted crying on the field. However, Kane Williamson, after initial moments of disbelief, conducted himself with immaculate composure and responsible maturity and even donned a smile on his face in the post-match presentation.
After seeing this avatar of Kane, social media could not help but salute the very picture of decency, humility and sportsmanship- Kane Williamson.
