Khanpur legislator Kunwar Pranab Singh Champion has turned into a big headache for Uttarakhand BJP. After his recent viral video, in which the controversial political leader is shown dancing with guns and using offensive language, the Uttarakhand BJP has decided to take strong action against the MLA. Champion is all set to be removed from the party for constantly creating embarrassment for the BJP.
Kunwar Pranab is presently serving a three-month suspension for giving life threat to a journalist recently, but after the new controversy, the BJP has decided to extend the suspension to an indefinite period. He was served show cause notice for expulsion on Thursday.

Champion was served expulsion notice by Uttarakhand BJP on the social media viral video and was asked to submit his clarification within 10 days. Uttarakhand BJP President Ajay Bhatt said, “We strongly condemn the language used by an MLA against the hill people in a social media video. We are ashamed over the act. We have issued notice asking the leader why he should not be removed from the party? He has been asked to submit his clarification within 10 days.”
Kunwar Pranab Singh Champion is getting heavily trolled on social media for abusing the hill people. After getting bashed by the public on social media, Champion approached the Dalanwalla Police Station near his residence in Dehradun to provide him additional security. In his application to the Police, Kunwar Pranab stated, “I am receiving threat from many on my social media account. It is my request to you that somebody has posted a controversial video after dubbing and editing on social media. It is a political conspiracy against me. Please arrange for armed policemen for me and my family security.”
Kunwar Pranab Singh Champion was earlier barred from attending any meeting of Uttarakhand BJP and also any meeting of the BJP legislators. Now, he is banned for an indefinite period and served a show cause notice.
A champion of controversies, Kunwar Pranab constantly creates news for the wrong reasons. In March/April this year, Kunwar Pranab Singh Champion was engaged in a verbal war with Jhabreda MLA Deshraj Karanwal. The dispute took an ugly turn with Champion challenging Karanwal for a wrestling fight in Roorkee. In June, Champion gave life threat to a TV journalist in New Delhi and this time the video of the politician holding guns, dancing on a popular Hindi film number and abusing hill people have landed the Khanpur MLA in deep trouble.
The BJP is in no mood to spare Champion this time. Earlier, the Uttarakhand BJP and Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat ignored many of such acts, but this time the issue has reached the high command of the party and it is assumed that Champion will be shown the door. The indefinite period suspension from the party clearly points to that. Just to complete a mere formality of organizational proceedings, Champion has been served the show cause notice for expulsion.
A difficult, complicated and critical situation for Pranab to emerge as a champion!
