Woman complains of rape, colleague arrested
An event-management company staff was arrested by the police last midnight after a woman complained of rape and physical assault at a hotel in Benachity Market area here.

In a significant development in the field of academic and health services, Dr R Ahmed Dental College & Hospital in Kolkata has secured the 10th position among all dental colleges in an all-India forum for its academic excellence and infrastructure as per a national survey.
Member of the Dental Council of India, Dr Raju Biswas, said it was indeed good news for everyone, especially on the dawn of 100 years of completion of dentistry in Southeast Asia. “We hope to look forward to this alma mater reigning at the top of the list,” Dr Biswas said.
The names of the other top dental colleges are Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, Govt Dental College & Hospital (Mumbai), Nair Hospital Dental College (Mumbai), Manipal College of Dental Science, Govt Dental College & Research Institute (Bangalore), Faculty of Dental Science, King George Medical University, Christian Dental College, SDM College of Dental Science, Post Graduate Institute of Dental Science, and Dr R Ahmed Dental College & Hospital. The same national survey conveys that no medical college in West Bengal has managed to secure a position within the Top-15 medical college all over India. However, Kolkata Medical College scored the 19th rank among its class in the national forum, it is learnt.

The top 10 medical colleges are AIIMS Delhi, AFMC Pune, CMC Vellore, Saint John Medical College (Bangalore), JIPMER, King George Medical College, Grand Govt Medical College, Institute of medical science, Seth GS medical college and Kasturba medical college.
