Northern Army Commander asks troops to remain alert during anti-terrorist ops
A junior commissioned officer of the army’s elite special forces lost his life and three soldiers were injured during a terror attack in Kishtwar recently.
“Three terrorists have been killed in Panzgam operation. Weapons and war-like stores were recovered,” Defence Ministry Spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said.
Three terrorists, including a Kashmiri man, were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday, informed the police, adding that the three belonged to the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen terror outfit.
The encounter broke out in the wee hours at Panzgam area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
“Three terrorists have been killed in Panzgam operation. Weapons and war-like stores were recovered,” Defence Ministry Spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said.

“Bodies of three militants have been recovered,” a police officer added.
The slain Kashmiri militant was identified as Showkat Ahmad Dar, a resident of the same village, where the operation was conducted.
Jammu and Kashmir Police said, “The terrorists who have been neutralised are identified as Showkat Dar, Irfan War and Muzaffar Sheikh. They were affiliated to terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen (HM). Several terror crime cases were registered against them.”
Authorities have suspended mobile Internet services in the area. Train services between Srinagar and Banihal town of Jammu region have also been suspended.
