Intensifying her attack on the Prime Minister on Friday, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra called Narendra Modi the “world’s biggest actor” and said that it would have been better if the people had elected Amitabh Bachchan in his place.
Addressing a gathering in poll-bound Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh during her roadshow, Priyanka said that it would have not made much of a difference since neither Bachchan nor Modi would have done something for them.
“Ab aap samajh lijiye ke apne duniye ke sabse bade abhineta ko apna PM bana diya hai. Is se accha toh aap Amitabh Bachchan ko hi bana dete. Karna toh kisi ne kuch nahi tha aapke liye (Understand that you elected the world’s biggest actor as PM. It would have been better had you elected Amitabh Bachchan. Neither would have helped you anyway),” she said.
Priyanka Gandhi was campaigning in Mirzpaur for Congress candidate Lalitesh Pati Tripathi, who is contesting against sitting MP Anupriya Patel, whose party, Apna Dal, is an NDA ally.
The Congress general secretary had on Wednesday held a massive roadshow in PM Modi’s constituency, Varanasi.
On Thursday, she targeted the PM at a rally in Maharajganj saying that the PM boasted about “56-inch chest” but has no heart.
“You (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) boasted about your 56-inch chest, but where is your heart?” the 47-year-old said.
Vadra will also address another roadshow in Kushinagar.
Thirteen seats in UP will go to polls in the last phase of Lok Sabha elections on 19 May. The results will be declared on 23 May.
