Accusing Congress of being arrogant, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday, said that the party tried to wipe away the name of Dalit icon BR Ambedkar from history. He also said that the party even insulted senior leader Babu Jagjivan Ram, popularly known as Babuji.
PM Modi was addressing an election meeting at Sasaram in Bihar in support of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Chedi Paswan from Sasaram seat.
The Prime Minister lashed out at Congress saying that the party has no regret over its misgovernance through the years, adding that it was embroiled in corruption and scams and neglected the farmers.
“Congress ka ahankar satve aasman pe hai” (Congress’s arrogance is at its zenith).
“They looted money from the poor, indulged in scam after scam because of which the poor have to suffer. I was the chief minister of Gujarat for many years then you made me the prime minister but still after spending so many years in power I don’t have any asset. You can compare both.” He said that people’s love is his real asset.
Targeting the Opposition and Congress, PM Modi said that there is a huge difference between the politics of the NDA and “Mahamilawat”.
“There is a huge difference between NDA and Mahamilawat and it is very clear. We (NDA) have brought out Bihar from darkness whereas they (Mahamilawat) want to push Bihar back into darkness.
Touching upon the issues of national security and Naxalism, he said that his government was doing every bit to finish terrorism and Naxalism while the Mahamilawat was trying to protect them. He accused them of compromising on national security and exhorted the people to stop the Opposition saying that it is their duty.
