Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has damaged his vocal cords once again after relentless campaigning for the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.
According to a statement released by his office, Sidhu has been put on steroid medication and injections in the process of a quick recovery to return-back to campaigning at the earliest.

“Punjab Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu campaigned across the country, addressing 80 rallies in 28 days. Continuous speaking has severely impacted his vocal cords to the extent that they bled at times,” an official release was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
“Sidhu consulted physicians on early Sunday morning in Chandigarh, who advised two alternatives — either a balm coating over his damaged throat, which would require him not to speak for four days or a severe measure of anti-inflammatory injections and steroid medication along with complete rest for 48 hours,” it read.
“He chose anti-inflammatory injections and steroids to rest for just two days because balm coating would have hampered his ability to speak for the next four days. At the moment Sidhu is under medication and in the process of a quick recovery to return to campaigning at the earliest,” the statement further read.
Sidhu is one of the star campaigners for the Congress party across the country.
He is scheduled to address public meetings in Bihar’s Patna Sahib on May 14, Ponta Sahib in Bilaspur and Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh on May 15. On May 16 and 17, he will be campaigning in Madhya Pradesh.
Earlier in December, Navjot Singh Sidhu who was on an intensive 17-day election campaign during the Assembly elections, wherein he addressed more than 70 back-to-back public meetings, injured his vocal cords. The doctors had told him that he was on the brink of losing his voice and suggested complete 3 to 5 days rest.
