Himachal CM gives clean chit to ministers and MLAs in Assembly on corruption issue
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has given a clean chit to his ministers and MLAs on the issue of corruption.
The victim, who had reportedly come to Shimla to prepare for competitive examinations, was allegedly kidnapped from near Dhalli tunnel and raped and later dumped near Sanjauli in Shimla district.
A 19-year-old girl from Haryana was allegedly raped in a moving car near Dhalli, on the outskirts of Shimla on Sunday night.
The police on Tuesday formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case which would be headed by Additional Superintendent of Police, Praveer Thakur.

She had reportedly complained to the police of being harassed by the accused who were not known to her but the officials allegedly didn’t take action on her complaint.
The first of its kind incident in Shimla has raised tempers in view of the Lok Sabha polls in the state with all parties expressing resentment and urging authorities to take immediate action in the case.
Both Congress and the BJP staged a protest in Shimla on the issue and demanded immediate arrest of the accused, with the case reprising memories of the infamous rape and murder of a 16-year-old in Theog area of Shimla district.
A case under Sections 376 (rape), 354A (sexual harassment), 366 (kidnapping) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC has been registered at the Dhalli police station and investigations were on, DIG Southern Range Asif Jalal said.
Police officials had the medical examination of the victim conducted at Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla, but were tight-lipped on whether she was sexually assaulted or not.
“We are still awaiting her medical report,” a police official said.
The police officials were scanning the CCTV footage to identify the accused. Meanwhile, the police have recovered the victim’s mobile phone from the crime scene.
Police sources said one of the accused was known to the victim and one suspect has been detained in the case, though it is yet to be ascertained whether he is the main accused or not.
