India’s upper order batsman Shikhar Dhawan had a special message for his limited overs opening partner and ODI vice-captain Rohit Sharma, the after ‘hitman’ became the proud father of a baby girl on December 30 last year.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday shared a video of Dhawan congratulating Rohit on Twitter and posted: “Congrats on becoming a Daddy @ImRo45 – @SDhawan25 has a message for you 😁😁 #TeamIndia.”
In the video, Dhawan can be heard saying, “He (Rohit Sharma) was the father of batting already and now he is a father in real life too, I am very happy for him and I know he is happy as well. I know he will make a great father.”
Earlier, during India’s four-match Test series against Australia, Rohit missed the fourth and final Test as he flew back home to meet his wife and the newborn.
