This year has certainly been an eventful year with many celebrities trying their hand at writing and wearing the hat of an author. As we take a look at some of the most impressive transitions this year, here’s a list of the top 5 books by celebs that got attention in 2018.
1. Sanjay Khan – ‘The Best Mistakes of My Life’

Veteran actor-producer Sanjay Khan’s autobiography ‘The Best Mistakes Of My Life’ that was released pre-Diwali emerged to be a bestseller this year. The autobiography has the actor-author at his candid best with a bare-all look at his journey in Bollywood and outside of it.
From films to politics to his near-death accidents, Khan writes on all his life-changing moments. His extraordinary meeting in the environs of Istanbul with the drug mafia king and the challenge he faced when he was offered a slice of the cocaine kingdom. The extraordinary night of mirth and merriment in the mountain camp of the Qashqai Khan in Bam ( Eastern Iran ), the warlord, who was bitterly opposed to the Shah of Iran. The book had its grand pre-Diwali launch in Mumbai.
2. Twinkle Khanna – ‘Pyjamas are forgiving’
After the successful debut of her first book ‘Mrs Funnybones’ followed by ‘The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad’, Twinkle Khanna released her third novel this year titled ‘Pyjamas are Forgiving’.
The novel traces the journey of a middle-aged woman who narrates her story of the 28 days spent at Kerala’s Shanthamaaya Sthalam, a spa where people are supposed to exercise restraint, consume copious amount of ghee and in turn get treated for their ailments.
3. Shaheen Bhatt – ‘Never Been (Un)Happier’
Alia Bhatt’s sister and screenwriter Shaheen Bhatt released her debut book, ‘I’ve Never Been (un)Happier’ on World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2018. Shaheen penned down an emotionally arresting memoir, revealing the daily experiences and debilitating big picture of one of the most critically misinterpreted mental illnesses in the twenty-first century – depression.
4. Shilpa Shetty – ‘The Diary of a Domestic Diva’
Actor and entrepreneur Shilpa Shetty released her book ‘The Diary of a Domestic Diva’ this year. The book brings fifty of Shilpa’s most special recipes, some of which feature in her popular Sunday Binge videos on Instagram. Aiming to share quick and hassle-free methods of cooking healthy, nutritious and delicious meals, the recipes have been favourites in the Shetty-Kundra household.
5. Priyanka Chopra – ‘Unfinished’
Actor Priyanka Chopra is soon set to release her upcoming book titled ‘Unfinished’ which aims at inspiring women to dream big and aim for everything in life. The actor has penned down the short stories and some of her personal experiences where she elaborates on being fearless and having a voice for expressing her opinions. The book is set to release by early 2019.
The Rajasthan High Court has quashed an FIR filed in 2017 at Churu Kotwali related to a 2013 television interview featuring Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty. The FIR accused the actress of using the word "Bhangi," allegedly offending the Valmiki community.
