There is bound to be a cake when people are celebrating Christmas. Cakes are either store-bought or home-made. More and more people are trying their hand at creating their own masterpiece because of the easy recipes available on internet, TV shows or in baking recipe books. Christmas is the perfect time to bake a cake in your own kitchen. So, do not waste time. Get set and start baking this wonderful cake following the recipe step by step.

Ingredients:
Large egg yolks 3
Heavy cream 3/4 cup (in liquid form)
Vanilla essence 3/4 tsp
Sugar
Baking powder 1 ¼ tsps
Salt
Unsalted butter 10.5 Tbsp (softened)
Sifted cake flour 1 ½ cups
Method:
For one and a half cup sifted flour – sieve together three-fourth cup maida with three-fourth cup corn flour ensuring that both mix well.
In a mixing bowl, combine together yolks, two tablespoons of cream and vanilla essence gently.
In a large mixing bowl, combine together all the dry ingredients well.
Add softened butter and remaining cream, blend on low speed with a cake mix blender.
Increase the speed to medium and then high and blend for two minutes to aerate and develop the fluffy cake texture.
Scrape down the sides gradually.
Add egg mixture in three batches beating for 20 seconds after each addition to incorporate the ingredients well and strengthen the cake texture.
Scrape down the sides again.
Grease the baking dish.
Pour the cake batter into it and smoothen the top surface with a spatula.
Preheat oven to 350 C for 10 to 15 minutes.
Bake the cake for 30 to 45 minutes or until wire tester comes out clean when inserted in the centre of the cake.
Take it out and let it cool at room temperature. The cake will shrink while cooling.
Turn it on the serving dish. You may garnish it with gems or cake fruits.
For best results, never bake any cake in the microwave. Always store it in an airtight container.
Though it takes time to bake a cake on your own only home-made cakes have your personal touch.
